Basically, the awards will be conferred based on contributions made to Ghana’s development made since the advent of the 4th Republic in 1993.

Awards will be conferred across 85 categories, comprising 20 special recognition awards for exemplary individuals (including two post-humus awards) and 65 awards for public institutions and private enterprises.

The Business Executive is currently in the process of forging collaborative relationships and partnerships with several key institutions in Ghana in order to ensure that the selection of awardees is done in the most credible way and results in the most deserving award winners.

AWARD CONFERMENT CEREMONY
Awards will be conferred at a red carpet, five star cocktail ceremony to be held on 12th September 2020 at Accra Marriott Hotel.

RATIONALE
Over the past 62 years, Ghana has evolved from a most promising pioneer African independent nation state, to politically unstable, economically failing country, and , over the past three decades, into the most politically stable democracy, with one of the fastest growing African economies, indeed leading the continent’s ongoing socio-economic renaissance.

Ghana’s exemplary upward trajectory over the past three decades has been made possible largely by the particular contributions of certain individuals, public institutions and private enterprises as well as some of its most committed foreign international development assistance partner countries and institutions, and some of its best international trade and investment counter-party enterprises.

With political partisanship, historical documentation shortcomings and the sheer passage of time increasingly blurring the relative contributions of such individuals, institutions and enterprises, we have seen the need to identify the most outstanding contributors to Ghana’s economic growth and societal development and publicly recognize them by way of conferment of awards. This aims to not only show appreciation for their efforts and accomplishments in this regard, but also to establish them as role models worthy of emulation by everyone else.

Consequently our award scheme sets out to establish a selection of exemplary contributors to Ghana’s growth and development in their deserved places in history for posterity’s sake and also to serve as motivation for Ghanaians, foreign trade and investment partners and foreign development assistance partners, to step up their commitment and actual efforts towards accelerating Ghana’s growth and development.
